Who We Help

  • Professionals With Back or Neck Pain

Long hours at a desk can place significant stress on the spine, particularly when posture and movement throughout the day are limited. Many people experience neck stiffness, mid-back tension, headaches, or persistent low back discomfort that gradually worsens during the workday.

These symptoms often develop from a combination of prolonged sitting, limited movement, and reduced strength in key stabilizing muscles.

At Denver Spine & Performance, treatment focuses on relieving tension while addressing the mechanical factors that lead to discomfort. This often includes restoring mobility in restricted areas of the spine and shoulders, strengthening supportive muscles, and providing simple strategies to reduce strain during the workday.

The goal is to help you stay comfortable and productive throughout the day without relying on temporary fixes.

  • Weightlifters Limited By Pain or Stiffness

Back pain is one of the most common issues among people who lift weights regularly. Whether it develops during deadlifts, squats, Olympic lifts, or high training volume, pain often results from repeated loading combined with mobility or stability limitations.

Many lifters are told to stop training completely when pain occurs, but in many cases this approach only delays progress.

At Denver Spine & Performance, we work with lifters to reduce pain while keeping them active whenever possible.

Treatment focuses on restoring proper joint mobility, improving core and hip stability, and modifying movement patterns that may be contributing to excessive stress on the spine.

Our goal is to help you return to lifting confidently and safely, with better mechanics and reduced risk of recurring injury.

  • Endurance Athletes Training Through Pain

Endurance athletes — including cyclists, runners, and triathletes — frequently develop back pain due to the repetitive demands of long training sessions and sustained postures. Over time, these stresses can lead to tightness, fatigue, or irritation in the muscles and joints of the spine.

Because endurance training involves high volumes of repetitive movement, even small mobility restrictions or muscular imbalances can gradually lead to pain.

At Denver Spine & Performance, we work with endurance athletes to identify the mechanical factors contributing to their symptoms, whether related to training volume, mobility restrictions, or muscular endurance.

Treatment is designed to restore proper movement and improve the body’s ability to tolerate training loads, allowing athletes to continue progressing without persistent pain limiting performance.

What Makes Our Clinic Different

A Movement-Focused Approach

Pain in the spine or joints is often influenced by the way the body moves during daily activities and exercise. Restrictions in mobility, weakness in stabilizing muscles, or inefficient movement patterns can place excessive stress on certain tissues over time. Our evaluations focus on identifying these factors so treatment can address the root cause of the problem rather than only the symptoms.

Treatment Designed For Active People

Many of our patients want to stay active — running, lifting, training, or simply maintaining an active lifestyle. Rather than recommending complete rest whenever possible, our approach focuses on modifying activity while improving the body’s ability to tolerate movement and load.

This helps patients return to their activities more quickly and with greater confidence.

Integrated Rehabilitation

Treatment does not end with hands-on care. Each plan includes targeted exercises and movement strategies designed to restore proper mobility, improve stability, and reduce the likelihood of recurring injury.

These strategies are selected based on your specific condition and goals so you can continue making progress between visits.

Focus On Long-Term Results

The ultimate goal of treatment is to help patients become more resilient and independent in managing their health. Many patients come to us after experiencing recurring injuries or persistent pain, and our focus is to help them develop the strength, mobility, and movement control needed to stay active long-term.

Recovering from a low back injury doesn't mean giving up your passing for running - it means approaching it smarter. The spine plays a central role in stabilizing the body during high-impact movements like running, so returning too aggressively can lead to setbacks. The key is a phased return that prioritizes mobility, stability, strength, and gradual progression. Whether you've experienced disc irritation, facet joint pain, muscle strain, or general low back tightness, this guide will help you safely return to running with confidence.

Your nervous system, including your spinal cord and peripheral nerves, is a continuous and mobile structure. Think of it like a long cable that runs from your brain to your toes. It is designed to move and glide through muscles, joints, and other tissues as your body moves. But under certain conditions - such as after an injury, inflammation, or postural stress - nerves can lose some of that mobility. This loss of mobility is referred to as neural tension or nerve tension . When this happens, the nerve doesn't slide smoothly through surrounding tissues. Instead, it may become sensitive, irritate, or restricted, particularly during movements that stretch or put tension on it.
